Our Pastor
Pastor Damion P. Gordon, Sr. is the Senior Pastor of First Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. He hails from Little Rock, Arkansas, but some of his youth years were spent in Meridian, Mississippi. After high school he attended both Southern Arkansas University and Oklahoma University for athletics.
He later obtained a Master of Arts in Religion, Church Ministries from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate for Education, in Organizational Leadership Christian Ministry at Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ. Damion Gordon answered God's call to preach in 1997. Since answering the call, he has been a vessel of God by preaching and teaching the Word to God to all people.
Pastor Gordon became the Senior Pastor at First Jerusalem Missionary Baptist church in January 2016. Since his arrival several accomplishments have been made. These accomplishments include: increased membership by adding over 300 new members, increased discipleship development by adding 4 new ministries, increased community and economic awareness through community partnership programs.
A Proven Leader
Also since the beginning of Pastor Gordon's leadership at First Jerusalem, the church has baptized over 70 peopleand has been selected three years in a row for the Savannah Awards for Places of Worship and qualified for the Savannah Business Hall of Fame. In 2017, Pastor Gordon was spotlighted in the Epitome magazine for his sermon "It's all in his plan" and in 2018 he was nominated to receive the prestigious "Sermon of the Year Award" from Epitome Magazine at the Seventh Annual Red Carpet and Awards Celebration.
Pastor Damion P. Gordon, Sr. is also an adjunct professor at Beulah Heights University, Atlanta GA (Albany GA Campus). He had numerous trainings in leadership, mentoring and counseling. He has worked in the field of Mental Health for the past 13 years. Since 2011, he has served on the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network Board, Region 4 and currently is a member at large for region 5.
Pastor Gordon continues to be a beacon of light by teaching the word of God to all within his own church in addition to others within the community where he's created partnerships with other leaders.

- He has worked in the Mental Health field for the past seven years with AmericanWork Inc. of Albany, GA
- Since 2011, he has served on the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network Board, Region 4
- Pastor Gordon is the co-founder of the H.O.P. (Helping Others Pass) Program, youth mentoring and counseling program based out of Albany, GA
- He is also Co-founder of the I.C.U. (I Challenge You) Program, youth mentoring program of Albany, GA
Pastor Gordon is happily married to his wife, Devaki and the proud father of three daughters and one son: Shekinah, Chastity, DaKota and Damion II.
Pastor Damion P. Gordon, Sr.'s mission is to "Love God Completely and Love Others Compassionately," as commanded in Matthew 22: 36 – 40.
